Greetings, and thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself for the first time as a prospective freelance writer. I'll be honest, I had never heard of the Spotpanda website before seeing your post on freelancer. I see that it is in Beta, but I like the idea. I would love to become on of the contributing authors before it becomes mainstream. You are probably wondering, "Who is Timothy Kleisinger?" I'll save you the trouble from reading my profile (though I would appreciate it if you could take the time). However, instead of starting out by copying and pasting lines from my CV, I thought I would include some quotes friends and family have said about me: "Social Chemist", "Interesting (and interested)", "Adventurer", "A good oral speaker", and "...has traveled more than most do in a life-time" (this was said about me when I was in my early twenties). The miniGuide I want to create is about a city in Belgium (my country of residence for almost two years now). Every summer, backpackers from all over the world of all ages swarm Europe. Since my first trip here 11 years ago I have been aware of what travellers crave, where they like to visit, and why. I would like to write about one of those elusive places that I didn't find during that first trip. Hi I live in the Canary Islands - Fuerteventura and can write on the local entertainment, food, nightlife for tourists, or a 'how to' guide for moving abroad OR BOTH!! I am a grandmother, in my 50's and I'm still learning. Qualified adult teacher, qualified holistic therapist - massage, reflexology etc. Qualified Life Coach. I've learnt to pole dance, belly dance (more like weightlifting when you are bigger than a size zero), ceroc, rock and roll, and zumba. Recently I have been writing accredited courses for an on-line college, working as a faux drag queen as part of a large show and then branching out creating and performing my own show......... and I can knit and crochet too. My writing skills, combined with my knowledge of the local area, enable me to write a strong miniGuide to Christmas, Florida. This guide would entice both tourists and residents to spend a day or perhaps more in the little town of Christmas, known for its history as well as its recreation. Christmas is a very small town nestled between Titusville and Orlando. Often overlooked, it contains a life sized model of the historic Fort Christmas, wildlife refuge, alligator park, and airboat adventures, in addition to wandering roads leading to working farms. Visitors might see cranes and egrets crossing the road, stop to help a turtle cross the road, or even the occasional bobcat lurking among the trees. Just 15 minutes from the tourist areas of Titusville and Orlando, Christmas is a feast of real Florida, native wildlife and many generation farmers. I welcome the opportunity to write about this classic country town in a way that invites others to visit and explore all its features. I could also expand upon this topic in future miniGuides with other lessor known attraction areas of Florida. These guides would cater to those seeking something beyond just a week at Disney or the beach and could encourage people to explore our state's history and natural environment, in addition to the many tourist attractions.
