A Wheelchair Simulation System For Young Children
Introduction
We will develop a wheelchair simulation system that can help young children with disabilities to learn the fundamental driving skills.
Project Requirements
1. The simulation system should support both keyboard and USB joysticks as inputs.
2. The Wheelchair should look and behave like a real wheelchair.
3. At least two stages should be set up, arranged from easy to difficult
a. The users can practice various maneuvers, such as linear forward, linear backward, left/right turning maneuvers, etc.
b. Obstacles should be included in at least one of the stages
i. The obstacles can be stationary or moving
4. Bonus schemes (e.g., gold coins, points, acclamations, etc.) should be added to excite and attract young children.
5. Statistic data should be collected and saved in a file, such as the bonus gained, the time spent on the simulation, the time spent on driving, the time to finish a stage, the number of collisions, etc.
6. You can choose a gaming platform, such as Unity 3D, Microsoft XNA, etc. to accelerate the development speed. A sample program based on Unity 3D will be provided.
Tools to Use for Design and Development
1. You must use some UML CASE tools to make your analysis and design, such as IBM Software Architect, Rational Rose, or Microsoft Visio.
2. You must use Microsoft Project to work out your workplan and use MS Project to keep track of the progress of your project.
3. You may use Microsoft Visio to draw Entity-Relation diagrams (ERDs), and data flow diagrams (DFDs).
4. You must use some Unit Test tools (e.g., JUnit, CppUnit, etc.) to perform automated testing.
5. You must use some version control system to keep the consistency of your code. Possible choices include CVS, subversion, Microsoft team foundation server, etc.
Hello,
My name is Tamas, i have 5+ years experience with c# and Unity. I worked on several published games.
Im not a fulltime freelancer, so thats why i set the days to 30. (but i think i can finish in 20-25 days )
If i get the project:
- first few days i make a plan, create data models and milestones.
- and after every second (or third) day i send a new build to you
Best regards,
Tamas
