ASP.Net Web Form to Search for & Match Serial Number

I need an input form that will search through a list of serial numbers to determine 1 of 4 possible outcomes and display a message based on those outcomes. The serial numbers to be matched will be provided in Excel spreadsheet.
Requirements:
1. Serial numbers to be matched must be able to be updated without recoding.
2. The message displayed when a match is made must be easy to update.
3. Form validation - Serial number length limited to 8 or less numbers. Form shouldn't submit if input field is empty. If user inputs a serial number that ends with a dash and characters, the dash & remaining characters should be stripped before searching for a match. Example: User inputs: 12345-8C1, the serial number to be matched will be 12345.
4. Possible Outcomes if user submitted input is a match:
a. Yes, your instrument will work with the Calibration Station.
b. Yes, your instrument will work with the Calibration Station but requires a software update first. Contact us at 800.722.4872 to schedule an
update.
c. No, your instrument will not work with the Calibration Station.
5. If serial number is not found display the following:
a. The serial number was not found. Please contact us at 800.722.4872.
UPDATE:
Form will need to include a selection for instrument model and a button to clear form. Logic behind form will need to match both the model and the serial number. I've attached a jpg of a possible form layout that shows components needed. I've also given a sample of the Excel spreadsheet.
