Background: A NiMH battery pack consists of qty 2 AA NiMH cells in series with a over-current device (solid state resettable fuse). Goal: Find a chip, or design a very simple circuit that meets the following criterion: 1) Circuit or chip has 3 attachment points: 1. Battery stack + terminal 2. Battery stack - terminal 3. Positive (or negative) external connector terminal Depending on which you choose, the Negative (or positive) external battery terminal will be connected to the appropriate end of the battery stack. 2) When battery stack gets below 1.8v (prefer this be adjustable, or a selection of parts to pick from to adjust this threshold voltage), then the pack will not allow any more current to be drained from it, but WILL allow a charge. 3) Quiescent current (how much current this circuit consumes) should be no more than 10uA when there is no draw on the batteries, and no more than 500uA when there is a draw on the batteries, and no more than 1mA when the batteries are being charged (battery pack terminals have higher voltage than battery stack) 4) Costs no more than $0.25 per unit in quantities of 10,000 or more. If this is an off the shelf chip with leads, then the price limit is $0.25. If the chip or circuit is SMT or TH technology and/or requires a circuit board, then the entire BOM including circuit board should not exceed $0.25 5) Simple to manufacture using modern electronic assembly techniques. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working circuit(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): A) Full bill of materials listed, along with sources and estimated prices. Attaching price quotes is appreciated. B) Full schematic of circuit, showing the battery stack, external battery pack terminals, and all circuit elements (if it's a single part, then just the hook up information. C) Datasheet for any IC's. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright and patent law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Electronic Circuit: Standalone (See description)
