To develop and unit test an android application to allow android device users to search and view campsites within New Zealand (although not necessarily restricted to NZ). The campsite data is already used in the backend for a website and this data will be used to drive the app. Advice will be needed on how best to store and access this data. Also new attribute data can be added against a camp by a site admin (not by general users). This attribute data can consist of places of interest, near a beach, dogs are allowed etc. Google maps will be used to display camps as users zoom in an area of New Zealand (once they get to a certain zoom level). A standard camp details screen can be displayed with contact details, phone number etc (the phone number can be 'live' so the app can dial the number for the user). Up to 20 photos can be displayed (thumbnails initially) - up to 5 video URLs, and the attribute data mentioned above. As well as the user zooming in on the map of New Zealand, there will be a level system starting at North Island/South Island --> the various provinces of New Zealand down to city/town level. Also a simple search and a more advance search will be required. Note, a more detailed document will be available however, this is a high level overview of what is required. Note - an Apple version will no doubt be required so ideally we would want to use some of the outputs from the Android version for the Apple version.
