The application must support a minSdk of API 14 and a targetSdk of API 19 and launch on an Android emulator or device of API 14 or above. Applications that do not compile will not be awarded!!!
For this app, you will be building an Android application that makes use of the service and notification fundamentals. Minimally, the app must do the following things:
From a service, play multiple audio files in sequence that are loaded via resource identifier.
Service and media playback supports starting, stopping, and pausing playback.
Application shows a notification of the current song that is playing.
Clicking the app's notification will open the application if it is closed.
While open, the application must display UI controls for play and pause as well as the name of the current audio track that is playing.
In addition to the above minimum requirements, the following functionality is required to demonstrate mastery of the week one topics:
Audio files are loaded and played using a resource URI instead of the resource identifier.
Application utilizes a bound service to control audio playback.
Notification is used to run the underlying service in the foreground.
While open, the application UI also has controls to skip through audio tracks both forwards and backwards.
Application UI uses fragments wherever possible.
MediaPlayer loads and plays several audio files in sequence. Audio files are loaded from the raw resources directory using a resource URI.
Application utilizes a bound service for audio playback.
Service binder allows the user to control the play/pause state of the audio as well as skip through audio tracks.
A notification is utilized to run the application service in the foreground ONLY while audio is playing.
Notification shows the currently playing track at all times and, upon being clicked, opens the application if it is not already opened.
While open, the application UI displays the currently playing song title as well as working controls for playing, pausing, and stopping audio.
UI also contains working controls for skipping forward and backwards through audio tracks.
