1. Contrast social science and engineering approaches to technology. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the contrasting approaches to technology in addressing human-ecological problems. Use an example or examples from academic research to support your argument. 2. Critically assess the special report on Obesity and its Costs from the December 15-21, 2012 issue of The Economist using ideas from this course. Regardless of which topic you choose, you must refer to a minimum of six academically acceptable sources. While you must constructively refer to class readings, you must also refer to a minimum of three sources outside of course readings, including the Economist special issue. Your mark will in part depend on how clearly and explicitly you identify and explain the ideas from class that you are using.
