BOS Europe Limited has partially built an email marketing programme that will: 1) Look up and predict a domain name from a company name using Google API search; 2) Generate prospect email addresses from a user’s first; middle and last name combined with the looked up domain name; 3) Verify the list produced from 1) and 2) above and return the verified email addresses to a SQL database. Initially the application is for internal use, but will be extended for commercial sale to organizations. The current developer, who has had to accept a long term project and cannot expend any further time as a consultant, will provide a two hour handover of the application. At present the application is in the following state: i) The application is in two modules - the web application and the worker process applications. The web module contains sub-modules - user authentication (complete), time-sheet (90% complete) and the marketing application (this is the application that requires work). These sub-modules contain the database access logic plus any other server-side business logic. The database is SQL Server with custom stored procedures for interacting with data. The other main module is for the worker processes in the marketing module - these are executed on the worker servers for performing such tasks that need to happen out-of-band such as querying Google or verifying mail addresses. There is a work allocation framework in place, but this needs to be improved and a new UI created to manage the transition of work items through the process. ii) All code is written in C# on .NET 4. The web module is ASP.NET in C#. The database is Microsoft SQL Server with stored procedures written in TSQL. There are no .NET assemblies loaded into the database. iii) The user authentication module is complete. The UI could probably do with some work but this isn't key. The time-sheet module is complete (except for some small reporting requested amendments). The marketing UI is very basic (Probably around 10% complete) and needs substantial work. The worker module is probably 80% complete - the email verification code needs some tweaking to work with different types of mail server. The work allocation framework is probably around 60% complete. The company URL look up is complete although could be tweaked if necessary. The resolution code (MX lookup) is also complete. iv) The marketing UI needs most work - it needs a better look and feel with an improved editing facility. The work allocation and scheduling system needs to be re-structured. The user should be able to create custom lists of companies that form the base of a work item. These lists can then be used to form work items rather than the current system of creating work items for each stage in the process. Time will be important as the application is required as soon as possible. The chosen developer will be required to sign a project contract and all IPR will be owned by BOS Europe Limited.
