ODBC connection has already been established and am able to retrieve data from tables using SQL Statements. Database is SQL Anyware 5.5. I currently use Siebel Sales Personal Edition Version 6 to manage my customer contacts. We have purchased ACT! Version 6 and now want to transfer the records from the Siebel to ACT!. Unfortunately, it seems that Siebel does not have a good export feature and much of the information will have to be transferred using cut-and-paste. I have a piece of eScript code, fairly simple, around 10 lines that is attached to a button - when the button is pressed, a completely new IE window launches with a specified URL. This is in Siebel 7.5.2. ERM module. There are two problems: 1. The new IE window only opens when using the dedicated client. When invoking from the Siebel thin client, nothing happens. 2. Even from the dedicated client, (i.e. "thick client), sometimes, it doesn't work. Upon clicking the button, IE just hangs. Then if I *kill* the IE window where Siebel is running, the new IE window with the desired external URL opens fine. This is semi-repeatable with no apparent pattern.
