Title: THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN SUNSCREEN
Jack is a normal boy from Bondi, New South Wales in Australia. He loves playing Australian Rules Football, going to the beach with his Mum, Dad and dog Ruby and playing with his friends at School at recess.
One day while visiting the Beach, with the help of his Mum and Dad learning about applying Sunscreen, this allowed him to put on his 'shield' to protect his skin and gain superhero powers as CAPTAIN SUNSCREEN.
To help protect his friends and family from being burnt from the Sun, Captain Sunscreen uses his superpowers to help his friends to also learn about protecting their skin through these five steps:
- Wearing sun protective clothing that covers as much of your body as possible.
- Applying SPF 30 or higher broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen, at least 20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours when outdoors or more often if perspiring or swimming.
- Wearing a broad-brimmed hat that shades your face, neck and ears.
- Finding shade when outdoors at the beach/school etc.
- Putting on sunglasses.
(Maybe each of these things could be part of Captain Sunscreens costume, where the sunscreen is his shield, hat and sunglasses are his helmet etc.
THEME
The idea behind the story is to leverage the popularity of the Marvel Super movies that kids love and show that by using sunscreen and being sunsafe they too can be a superhero and protect.
AUSTRALIAN ELEMENTS: (How they could fit in)
Bondi Beach/Australian beach scenery could be a main backdrop of the story.
Other Australian elements of scenery could be gumtrees with Koalas, Kangaroos, Cockatoo/rosellas could be in picture.
Bondi Lifeguards are a big piece of Australian culture, so we could tie in the red and yellow flags at the beach (see Pinterest Board) and at the end of the story the Bondi Lifeguards saying something like ‘You are a lifesaver Capitain Sunscreen’?
Other elements could include him playing Australian Rules Football with his friends/family, the dog Ruby to be a Maremma (see pinterest board/google), other landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge; Sydney Opera House in the background of a scene with his Mum and Dad?
Colors to be vibrant and engage kids aged 3-8 years.
