Contest Brief

We aim to build a retail and adventure hub on top of one of Oman's most touristic sites. It is important to envisage the area, so here's a brief summary:

Situated on top of Jabal Akhdhar, a 2,500m high mountain, the temperature is moderate during summer (peaking at 28-32C) and cool during winter (8-12C). This attracts a lot of tourists during both seasons from Muscat, Dubai and beyond. The area is known for growing crops that don't grow in the surrounding region, such crops include pomegranate, apricot, walnuts, roses amongst other things.

We are willing to consider ideas on how to best use the land. Having said that, here are a few suggestions:

*Restaurant and coffee shop space (indoor and outdoor)
*Food, dessert trucks/caravans
*Kinds playground
*An outdoor climbing wall
*Archery range

Please be creative in your proposals. The timeline is tight, since we will have to submit the concept by the beginning of December. Submissions should be made no later than the 1st of December. The following is a list of expected deliverables:

1) Concept outline including measurements of the structures..etc
2) 3D rendering of the concept.
3) A short summary of the concept and its intended market (who do you expect will rent out the spaces? who will visit the hub?)

    Mr Contest Holder, i have a question, the main access of the property, we have to propose the road access in one of the sides of the park? also, the parking lots that appears in the layout are part of the project, or we have to also design the parking lots inside the doted area?

      Parking lot is what you see outside the dotted area and that’s where the main access would be. You could, if you want, provide another access from the park adjacent to the dotted plot.
