Finish Developing a Corporate Identity for an Office Equipment Company

Contest Brief

We need an incomplete corporate identity job finished.

We recently hired a local company to do a corporate identity job for us. Unfortunately, after finishing the initial stage (Logo, Letterhead, Envelope and Business Card) they merged with another company and then proceeded to implode. I have attached our logo, Business Card, letterhead, envelope and Equipment ID Label (The pink on the label is printed in black with consecutive numbering) designs for reference. I am not opposed to changes in these assets if you think you have a killer design idea although the ID labels have already been printed (Several years' worth). If you do decide to make changes to these then the art for them must be provided as well.

We need a number of assets to be used in our business operations in order to develop a consistent look and feel to our materials. Once a winner is selected we will have additional items to be completed using the new look either for the winner or as new contests. The winner of this contest will provide the assets listed as required below for the $250 prize.

The assets needed to establish a consistent look and feel are:

1 A document design to be used for single page quotes for copiers, printers and supplies. This will be done in MS Word 2010.

2 A design for a single-page informational hand out. We use these for educational information such as “Why buy from Office Imaging” and “Understanding Leases”. We usually do these in Publisher 2010.

3 At least two 8.5" x 11" flier designs for product Fliers, One for a single product and the other for 3-4 products. These should be of a similar look but differing layouts. We use Publisher 2010 for our fliers. Typically we will pick 2 designs to match the number and types of products being sold to make a 2-sided flyer. We will want the winner to produce at least 5 more varied flyer templates for $100 ($20 Each) as a job or we can post another contest after this if they do not wish to do the work. A sample of an existing flyer is attached for content (We are not looking for a flyer similar to this, it is just an example of what we are using now, although I want to move more toward simplification on product details).

4 A visual design style to be used in Excel based forms. Our forms use a master page for data entry then there are worksheets for each form that pull their data from the master so our reps don’t have to retype everything for a purchase agreement, lease, equipment release, maintenance contract, delivery acceptance etc… Our existing forms scream excel and very busy with lines and boxes. A sample is attached of our maintenance agreement, ignore the red background in some cells as it is just because there is no data entered.

We prefer a clean, professional look for our materials and I find much of our existing stuff to be very busy and needlessly wordy. I do have other versions of the logo if needed (.eps, .ai etc...). Please feel free to leave any questions in the comments.

We use a variety of programs to produce our work, Mostly in Office 2010. You can provide the documents in the programs listed or you can provide me with a .psd file that I can open in Photoshop CS4. All assets should be between 300 and 600 dpi for desktop laser printing, Higher for commercial printing. As long as I can recreate your document in the desired program without problems then Photoshop mockups with all the needed assets are fine. You should also be aware that we produce almost everything (Except Business cards, envelopes and Labels) in house on color laser printers so designs that rely heavily on reverses will not work well.

I will try to provide prompt feedback although I may be away part of the weekend. If there is progress happening that needs more time I may extend this for a day or two but prefer not to. One final note, please DO NOT contact me directly. All comments and notes should be through Freelancer (I had a VERY odd phone call last time I used freelancer)

    Thanks to everyone for their terrific responses. It was a close contest but in the end we have selected redkanvas's work because it is consistent with materials we have used in the past but at a much higher quality level than we were able to produce on our own.

    One quick additional note on the form design in response to a question I had from someone. If you think it would work better feel free to change the multiple checkbox areas to just a list of what is included. It would not be difficult to change it in our system. for instance instead of all the inclusion checkboxes we could simply print on the form "Parts, Labor, Drums, Black Toner, Color Toner.

    I wanted to give some additional information on the form design... These forms were designed by a former employee with a tendency to make things VERY busy and we are looking for a cleaner, simpler look. You do not need to completely do this MA contract form, the contest is to design a form look that can handle the density of information this form has so feel free to spend your time on the appearance, not specific fields if that makes you more creative and comfortable. You can completely ignore the wall of text second page of the contract as well
