Contest Brief

Hi,
I am looking for a cover page design and logo design for our latest game product. The main element should resemble something similar to that of a Shanghai advertisement in the 1930s (see attachment for reference). The logo should contain mainly text letters and characters. The text and characters should suggest it is Shanghai-related. The text should be "Shanghai 1930”.

Here is the requirement in full detail:
1. The cover page needs to contain patterns on the outer layout. You can check out some of the references of styles and colors I’ve attached(surroudinglayout.jpg and similar). This includes colors and design patterns for you to consider. The logo and cover page design must suggest that it is somewhat related to a metropolis. Maybe look towards a neon light style. Do not make it too modern and simple! (See attachment logo-01, logo-02, logo-03, logo-04 for similar stuff)
2. The text must say “Shanghai 1930" and have the "上海” (Chinese character for Shanghai) underneath or above it (Try use similar font in logo02). The text needs to be big in order for the view to see clearly on a screen that is the size of an iPhone. (See logosamplesize.png for detail)
4. The logo text must fit into the cover page provided in the attachment (coverpage.png). Please include the designs with a render effect of the cover page.
Please also look at the attached file for references of similar styles.
5. You may alternatively change the layout for the cover page if it fits your idea of a good cover page layout. This includes altering the light and shadow effect, coloring, and possibly adding elements surrounding the coverage.
6. Please include a PSD version of all the elements for the cover page if you win the contest. Please keep your work in seperate layers so I can edit them later if there are changes need to be made. Thank you

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!
You will be rejected if you:
1. Include designs that are too common, too simple, or too modern.
2. Include designs that are SPAMs. I’ve seen quite a lot of this lately in the previous contest and I will reject them if you think you can get away with it. I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS KIND OF SUBMISSIONS!
3. Include designs that are offensive, contain political elements, or simply not ORIGINAL.
4. Including designs that do not fit the listed requirements above.

I have many other works ranging from logo designs to illustration which I might invite you to work on. I believe in long term relationship and I feel that a contest is the best way to learn and build future relationships.
