Amazon (Kindle) book cover competition

Contest Brief

We have written a book about mental health and it is nearing completion. It's in need of an awesome cover!

The title and tagline of the book is:

Broken
How the mental health care system leads to broken lives and broken hearts

We envision the cover being the word Broken in large bold type but the letters would be broken--not quite as broken as a jigsaw puzzle, maybe only one break in each letter; it should be readily legible. The background could be a hallway or something "institutional" looking. Since this is for eBooks, and many kindles are eInk, it must first and foremost look good in Black&White.

The actual design should be color (we will print paperbacks). The design should work at 6"x9" (paperback size). Designs should follow the Kindle Publishing guidelines for size/margin/bleed/etc.

Since this is for commercial use, any fonts or images must be licensed appropriately. We are willing to consider inexpensive stock photos or fonts, but prefer things that are open licensed (Eg: Creative Commons 2.0).

Original sources must be provided (eg: PSD, ttf, images, etc). References/links to the source materials must also be provided to ensure that the sources are appropriately licensed. Happy to work with escrow payments.
