Create some pixel art for a turn-based strategy game

I always find the good contests late. The style I decided on is the old retro colored look; this style is also easy to animate because of the flat colors. In the end, I ran out of time and had to brush a quick landscape. I would have loved to make a full battle scene, with both teams. I always liked how advance war displayed the terrain in battles.
