Since it seems that the proposal of a brandname is a common problem for all the designers, we have decided by ourselves the brandname and we will communicate it to all the designers who will partecipate to the contest (simply submit a simple logo and we will immediately reply with the brandname: we want it to remain confidential). We feel and hope that this can remove what seems to be the more difficult part of the contest.

Hi Professional Designers and Creative People!

We need a memorable logo for our small craft brewery. We are going to use it for everything: website, beer labels, caps, gadgets, etc.

Rules:
1) Proprietary: Must be original work, no fonts used by others or with royalties, no stock images/art/etc.
2) After the win, we will need the related files in all the more common formats you work with; among them there should be .psd .cdr .png .tiff .jpg files
3) Be creative and crazy! We want an outstanding logo.

Things that are considered a plus:
a) Impacting outlook, modern shapes, well finished design resulting in a very attractive logo.
b) Subtle irony will be well considered.

We really look forward to you participants coming up with great ideas and designs. The contest is sealed and guaranteed because we want to find out an outstanding brand name and logo for our beloved brewery. Future works (for labels and marketing) will be possible if the result is completely satisfying.

  Dear nkrishnamoorthi, we feel we have now at least three good ideas for the brandname (these are our ideas, not arrived from this contest), one of which looks very cool. You can partecipate to the contest with your brandnames, but -since we need also a logo- you need to give us also -minimum- a sketch of the logo you would associate to the brandname.

Can you judge logo design and Brand name separately. If you pick two winners it will be better. People with logo design skill aren't good in branding and vice versa.

Could you provide an example of a logo style you would prefer. I'm just having a difficult time picturing an elegant, punk, japanese style logo.

  Maybe the batman logo? :) We are just kidding. We agree with you: this is an hard tough job. We cannot give an example of logo which centers our idea, but some logos which we like. Check:
  - Brewdog
  - Sanitas Brewing Co
  - Tiny Rebel (the graphic rather than the content)
  - Olmo birrificio
  As brand name, examples we like are "Great Divide" and "Against the Grain"
