Hi, I am a native Polish speaker with M.A. (Master of Arts) in Polish Language and Literature from the most prestigious university in Poland (Jagiellonian University in Cracow). I have gained my proficiency in English through studying both in Poland and the UK. I passed the IELTS exam at academic level as was required in order to study in the UK. I studied counselling, and although this is not directly related to translation, it does demonstrate my grasp of the English language and my ability to work at an academic level in English.
I have lived in the UK since 2007, during this time I have developed a deeper understanding of the cultural context of English language which is so vital for a successful translation to be achieved.
In addition to my permanent job (working part-time in a primary school) , I’ve also been working as a freelance translator and proofreader for the past 8 years. I have gained a range of linguistic experiences and as such some of the subjects I am confident to translate are: general / personal, technical, sport/ sport equipment, travel / tourism, websites, literature, psychology, social science, education and many others…
My philosophy of translating is to obtain the highest linguistic quality, presenting the same meaning of the source language whilst making the translation sound as natural as possible in a target language. My aim is to develop a translation that achieves the same impact on its audience as that of the original text. Through my M.A. studies I have developed an eye for picking up even the smallest of details when comes to language.
I am a reliable, hard-working and communicative person. I will listen to your needs and provide you with an excellent and quality translation.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!
