This project involved transforming Skate Canada's figure skating results, traditionally presented in PDF format, into an accessible and insightful visual format. Focusing on the AB/NWT/NUN section from 2007 to 2023, the challenge was to extract and accurately present data from various PDF formats.

Key Steps:

Data Collection: Employed Selenium in Python to scrape and download PDF files, ensuring ethical data scraping in coordination with AB Section.
Data Extraction & Cleaning: Utilized PDFPlumber and Tabula for data extraction, stored in Pandas DataFrames. Addressed inconsistencies in club and competition names and corrected date formats.
Visualization: Exported cleaned data to Excel, then created a comprehensive Tableau Public dashboard, offering insights at three levels: AB Section, Club, and Individual Skater.
