STEP/IGS to STL Converter via FreeCAD

We're looking for a fast and easy way to convert STEP or IGS/IGES files to STL by using the python interface of FreeCAD.
Requirements:
- Interface via command line (bash), [url removed, login to view] <options> <[url removed, login to view]> <[url removed, login to view]>
- Python version which suits FreeCAD interfaceing
- FreeCAD [url removed, login to view] or newer
- FreeCAD python modules
- Headless (must run from a Linux bash, e.g. Ubuntu)
- standard exit codes
- Input: STEP/IGES/IGS as supported by FreeCAD
- Output: Binary STL file in mm as supported by FreeCAD
If better constraints/platforms are known, please report back.
Requirement change:
- Solution need to be cross platform usable on Windows Server 2012 (Windows Power Shell) as well with the same versions of FreeCAD and Python.
