ESCROW AND DIRECT PAYMENT SERVICES:
Freelancer.co.uk offers 2 different types of payment options for employers:
After or before the completion of the work, employers can pay the freelancers with our Direct or Escrow payment option which can be found on the 'Your Team' section.
Escrow Payments: After you select one or more freelancers to include on your project team, you can make an escrow payment for them. The money will be kept in a middle account which will not be accessible by either the freelancer or the employer.
An escrow payment can only be completed by the employer and can be only cancelled by the freelancer.
When you make an escrow payment, your payment will not be sent to the freelancer unless you complete your payment by clicking on the related button on 'Billings and Payments' section. Sending a payment with Escrow is a guaranteed way of making sure that you are satisfied with the freelancers work. If the work has not been completed by the freelancer, then your money will be refunded by freelancer.co.uk
Direct Payments: If you do not want to hold your payment in a middle account, you can choose to send it as a direct payment. Direct payments are final and are NOT refundable. Freelancer will have access to the funds instantly. Direct Payments are less secure then escrow payments.
Freelancer.co.uk charges a commission for both Escrow and Direct payments.

EMPLOYERS AND FREELANCERS:
We believe in keeping things simple. A freelancer can also be an employer at the same time without having to register for 2 different accounts. As soon as you post a job, you will be assigned as an employer and as soon as you post your freelancer profile, you will be assigned as a freelancer. You can do both and you will be assigned as both freelancer and employer under one single account.
